William Charles "Uncle Bill" Rushforth, 83, of Winter Springs, passed away Friday, August 21, 2020. He was the widower of the late Rosemarie Rushforth who passed away in 2017.
Bill was born July 24, 1937 in Peekskill, NY to the late George and Marion Smith Rushforth. After retiring from Sears, Bill started working in the funeral industry in Central Florida. Uncle Bill, as he was affectionately known to his co-workers, became a local legend in the funeral industry.
Bill is survived by two sons, Charles and Kevin; three grandchildren, Amy, Noelle and Kevin II; six great grandchildren, Gage, Josh, Ethan, Evan, Miranda and Reilly; one sister-in-law, Denise (Brian); two nieces, Nicole and Hope; one nephew, Brian; six great nieces and nephews, Summer, Jimmy, Conner, Lucas, Emma and Bralyn; one great great niece, Mackenzie Rosemarie, and one great great nephew, Timothy James.
In addition to his loving wife of 57 years and his parents, Bill is preceded in death by one grand daughter, Chaise.
The family will receive friends Saturday, August 29, 2020, from 11:30 until 1pm, at Collison Carey Hand Funeral Home in Winter Garden. Funeral services will be held starting at 1pm.
The service will be live streamed for those unable to attend the service.
