Troy Mathis

Troy Dale Mathis, 58, lifelong Ocoee resident, died January 9, 2019, at Cornerstone Hospice House surrounded by family. He was an upholsterer and custom furniture maker and loved turning Trash to Treasures as each chest he built was creative, unique, and one of a kind.

Troy was the son of the late Abbie Sr. and Luetta Cooper Mathis, and he was also preceded in death by his brother, Roy Mathis, and his 2 Chihuahua's, Tiny & Cocoa.

Survived by son, Cory - wife, Jackie Mathis - and grandson, Easton of Winter Garden; his daughter, Ashley and her husband, Bryan Castle, and granddaughters, Kylee and Lilee of Apopka; his sister, Brenda Fox of Ocoee - brother, Abbie Mathis of Okahumpka - sister, Donna and her husband, Bryan Hewitt of Astatula. He will also be leaving behind many nieces, nephews, close friends, and neighbors whose lives he touched with his special brand of caring and generosity.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 15, 2019, 1pm, at Collison Carey Hand Funeral Home in Winter Garden. The Rev. Ricky Faircloth will be presiding. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 11am to 1pm. Interment will follow in Orlando Memorial Gardens.
