Terril S. Branom

January 30, 1932 — July 11, 2023

Terril Sylvester Branom, 91, passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2023. He was born on January 30, 1932 in Russellville, Alabama to William (Wess) and Isabel Branom. He was the 7th of 10 children and was the last one living.

Terril was 10 years old when his family moved from Alabama to Florida. Most of his life he lived in Winter Garden with almost 50 years of that time living on Lake Hickory Nut in Southwest Orange County, now known as the Horizon West area.

At 16, Terril worked in the Kilarney area near Lake Apopka planting and packing vegetables. This is where he started perfecting his gardening skills that he would use in the future to grow a variety of fruits and vegetables on his lake front property. He moved on from there to work a few years at Holler Chevrolet in Winter Garden in the paint and body shop. Terril’s longest standing job was working at an aluminum can production company in Winter Garden. When he started working there it was Continental Can; 45 years later when he retired, it was called Crown, Cork + Seal. Terril started as a forklift operator and finished his career there in the tin plate department. No matter what job he did, Terril always gave 100%. Terril very much loved his job at the can plant and would talk about it for hours, if you were willing to listen.

In 1951, Terril married Glenda Louise DeLoach on November 24th by Judge Pete Tucker in Oakland, Florida. They had four sons. 3 of which they raised to adulthood on Lake Hickory Nut.

Terril loved fishing, gardening, tinkering in his work shed and just enjoying the beautiful lake. He and Louise also enjoyed traveling to the mountains or spending a week at the beach with family and friends. Even till his last days, he was working on his tan.

Terril was predeceased in death by his loving wife, Louise, of 67 years; their infant son, Russell and oldest son, Ron. He is survived by his children, Rick (Amy) and Steve (Julie); 8 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

We will miss you, but you will always be with us in our hearts till we meet again.

--Your loving family.
