Susan Burnish

Susan (Burrell) Burnish, 54, died 6 June 2021 at Orlando Health in Winter Garden, Florida after a short illness. Her Funeral will be held Wednesday, June 16, 2021, 1pm at Collision Carey Hand Funeral Home. Interment will follow on Thursday, June 17, 2021, 2pm at Jacksonville National Cemetery in Jacksonville, Florida.

Susan was born on September 2, 1966, in Lima, Ohio to Leona and Charles Burrell, the youngest of four. She married Patrick Burnish on February 14, 1994. Married for 27 years, they have 2 daughters, Amburr Longfellow and Alesha (Matthew) Castner, and 4 grandchildren, Micayle Tessanne, Hayden Tessanne, Maximus Castner, and Olivia Grace Castner.

Prior to transitioning to a full-time homemaker, Susan managed multiple food establishments, namely Cinnabon which she managed with Patrick for 10 years. She was a devoted Army wife that made friends at every duty station she shared with Patrick. She was well known for cultivating an enviable yard wherever she and Patrick resided. The last couple of years, she spent a great deal of time painting rocks and handing them out to random people just to see them smile.

Susan and Patrick moved to Florida in February 2021 to retire and spend more time with family and friends
