Melissa Hewitt

Our angel, Melissa "Sissy/Sis" Kay Hewitt (37), of Ocoee, FL, passed away very unexpectedly on January 12th, 2024. Welcomed into Heaven by her beloved Granny.

Melissa was born on October 6th, 1986 to Bryan and Donna Hewitt. She is survived by her parents, her soulmate- Robert Hurst, their two beautiful children, Robert "Robbie" Jr. and Brianna Hurst.  Also survived by her brother, Bryan Hewitt Jr. and his daughters, Taylor & Maci Hewitt, Grandfather she called Pap, Thomas “Tom” Hewitt, aunts & uncles, nieces & nephews, in-laws, a plethora of cousins, extended family and a multitude of friends.

 Melissa grew up on the dirt roads of Ocoee, where she became a lifelong resident, forming lasting friendships with anyone she met. She graduated from West Orange High School C/O ‘05. Sissy was the embodiment of laughter, trust, love, and as kind hearted as they come.

Sis was a believer, prayed often and loved the Lord.  Being a mother was Melissa's greatest and most treasured accomplishment. She was the epitome of what they call "Mama Bear". From sun up to sun down, her life revolved around making sure her children felt loved and cared for, there was nothing she wouldn't do for them. The love she exhibited for Robert and their children was unmatched.

Her departure comes as a great shock and a deep wound for both family and friends who loved her deeply.
Her loss is immeasurable, but so is the love she left behind.

Funeral Services will be held at: The Collison Carey Hand Funeral Home 1148 E. Plant St. Winter Garden, FL 34787 on Wednesday, January 17, 2024.  Visitation is from 10am-12pm with the Service to follow.

Graveside Service at: Orlando Memorial Gardens 5264 Ingram Rd. Apopka, FL 32703. 

Immediately following will be a Reception hosted by the family at her parents home in Astatula.
