It is with great sadness that the family of Mattie (Pat) Davis announce her passing on January 30, 2015. Pat was born December 9, 1924 in Bartow, Florida to Eddie Jordan and Emma Chalker. She was married to Herbert W. Davis, Jr. who preceeded her in death. She worked for the Adventist Health System for over 40 years, serving at Florida Hospital Orlando and Manchester Memorial Hospital in Manchester, Kentucky. Pat and her husband were the driving force behind the building of the Manchester Memorial Hospital with the desire to serve the medical needs of the area. She loved to read, keep up with the news, watch her 3ABN programs on satellite, visit with family and friends, and enjoy the company of her precious dog, Roxie.
Pat called Orlando her home for the past 37 years, faithfully attended Kress SDA Church, and died after a brief illness at Florida Hospital. She is survived by her three children, Donna Rupe and partner, Phyllis Schwarz of Orlando; her son, Buddy, with whom she resided; and Debbie Smith and husband, Craig, of Manchester, KY. She had four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and many close friends including her best friend of more than 60 years, Kathleen Freeder.
She will be missed and always in our thoughts and memories.
