Mark Grzetich

April 26, 1952 — January 27, 2025

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Mark Grzetich; Husband, Father, PaPa and more, he was deeply loved by all. Mark passed peacefully in the early morning on January 27, 2025.

For many years, Mark fought his battle with Parkinson’s Disease. Throughout this time he kept his kind spirit, sense of humor, and passion for life. Mark loved animals, gardening, church, candy and Disney World. He also loved helping people. Mark was a member of IBEW Local 701 for 40 years, retiring in 2011.

Mark’s most passionate times were at the farm in Serena, Illinois, where he grew 2.5 acres of seasonal vegetables to sell at the Ottowa Farmers Market and for home canning. He won Grand Champion with his vegetables at the Sandwich Fair.

Mark was a member and Trustee of the Serena United Methodist Church in Illinois.

After moving to Winter Garden, Florida, Mark became a member of the First United Methodist Church Winter Garden, where he also worked as a part time custodian. Mark was affectionately known to all the students and staff at the FUMCWG Learning Center as “Mr. Mark”.

Mark is predeceased by his parents and one brother. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Jane; daughters Jamie (Adam) Bryant and Jessica (Jeff) Smolla; grandchildren Joanna Smolla and Nikolai Smollay and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his sister, Patricia (Ken) Dombrow. His family will miss him very much.

The family would like to thank Vitas Hospice of Clermont for their care and concern during Mark’s battle.
