Margaret Cockrell

Margaret Fay Cockrell, 62, of Ocoee, passed away Sunday, May 3, 2020.  She was born September 15, 1957, in Winter Garden, to the late Esker and Janie McPherson.

Margaret was getting ready to retire from Orange County Schools after many years as a Bookkeeper, PE Teacher, Receptionist and School Nurse at Dillard Street Elementary School.  While employed, she won Support Person of the Year in 2009, 2010 and 2015.

When not working or spending time with her family, Margaret enjoyed painting, mentoring students from Dillard, and her dogs and cats.

She is survived by her husband, John Cockrell; son, Jason Cockrell; granddaughter, Korina Cockrell, great granddaughter, Sophie Tenreiro; and her siblings Bobby McPherson and Paul McPherson.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 9, 2020, 11am at Collison Carey Hand Funeral Home.

Interment will follow in Winter Garden Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Friday, May 8, 2020 from 3pm to 6pm at the funeral home.
