Linda Delanie Durrance

It is with a broken heart that we announce the passing of Linda Durrance, seventy-eight years old, of Apopka, Florida. Linda was born in Holly Hill, S.C. to Allen Platt and Laura Dangerfield Platt. She lived in Holly Hill on the farm until age nine, when the family moved to Florida. Linda was predeceased in death by her father, Allen Platt, her mother, Laura Dangerfield Platt, her two brothers - Charles Platt and Rutledge Platt, and her three sisters - Bernice Hooks, Ester Bass, and Violet Fleshman. She is survived by her husband of forty-seven years, David Durrance, her daughter, Linda Christine Williard (Bill) of Salt Springs, FL, and two sons, Dewayne Smith (Susan) of Apopka, FL, and Rutledge Smith (Shelly) of Clermont, FL. She had nine grandchildren, twenty-eight great grandchildren, and nine great, great grandchildren.

Linda came from a large Christian family that has a real love for the Lord. She attended Mt. Dora Christian Home and Bible School, where she became very knowledgeable of God’s Word and developed a love of God’s Word. She was a lifelong member of Wekiwa Springs Baptist in Apopka, FL. where she was a loyal member and a faithful servant. She had a great love for people. If you knew Linda, you loved her.

Linda had many jobs over the years. She worked at a plant nursery, and she was a property manager at Spouse Abuse. She got her CDL licenses and drove a semi, which she loved. She was also very talented. She made cakes for birthdays, weddings, and other special occasions. She sewed a lot, and one of her favorite things to do was to make Native American craft. Most of all, she loved sharing time with her family. She loved family trips and camping. If it was spending time with her family and friends, she was happy. Linda will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.
