Laverne Peavey

Laverne C. Peavey, 94, died Wednesday, June 24, 2020 from complications of a broken hip.  She was the wife of the late Joseph Elmer Peavey, to whom she was married for 61 years, and the daughter of the late Lucille and John Cross.  She was born in Vienna, GA on July 30, 1925.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by her sister, Annette Bridges.

Laverne was a member of First Baptist Church of Winter Garden for almost 70 years and a bookkeeper for Peavey Electric for many years.

She is survived by her son, Joseph Peavey; her sister, Betty Knight; brother, John Walter Cross; grandchildren, Brandon Peavey, Brian Peavey, and Jennifer Foote; and six great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, July 2, 2020, 10 AM at Winter Garden Cemetery.
