Karen Lynn MacArthur-Rohr, 63, of Winter Garden, Florida formerly Maple Grove, Minnesota sadly left our world on July 22, 2024.
Karen was born in Minneapolis, MN to Bruce and Joyce MacArthur on November 5, 1960. Karen was a 1978 graduate from Patrick Henry High School and graduated from Mankato State University in 1995. She married her husband David Rohr on February 14, 1987. Her only child Megan was born in June of 1994. She worked the majority of her career in logistics and administration at Target Corporate, Pillsbury Company, and ISD 279. In 2020, Karen was fortunate to retire at the age of 59 and relocated with David to Winter Garden, Florida to enjoy the theme parks and sunshine. Karen was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in February of 2021 and was one of the few to win that battle being cancer free in November 2021.
Karen enjoyed making people laugh and was rich with sarcasm and wit. She loved traveling all over the country and world with her husband and daughter. Some of her favorite places were Maui, Florida, Chicago, and Europe. Karen and her family loved visiting theme parks all over the US and have ridden some of the tallest coasters in the world together. One of Karen’s biggest passions was the British Royal Family. This meant at any event or wedding that happened she was up at 3:00 am in her tiara watching it live with glee. In her retirement she found a new joy in crafting and creating projects for family and friends. She really enjoyed all Florida has to offer including the beach, her pool, and all of the theme park attractions.
Karen is survived by her husband David, her daughter Megan, her daughter-in-law Anna, her grand dogs Jack & Stella, her mother Joyce, and her brother Kyle. She is preceded in death by her father Bruce, her brother Kent, and her in laws Mary and Herman Rohr.
A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held at Westwood Lutheran Church in St Louis Park, Minnesota on Thursday August 1st at 11:00 am with lunch to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Florida Cancer Foundation and Westwood Lutheran Church.
