On Tuesday November 14th 2023, Julie Anne Primus, 71, passed away peacefully with her family at her side.
Julie was born on October 11th, 1952 to Lloyd George Rozee (1913-2001) and Mary McCorgray (1925-2008) in the London borough of Holloway, Islington. Julie and her older sister, Gina, grew up in New South Gate, settling in Cockfosters, Hertfordshire.
Julie attended Trent Church of England Primary School from 1958-1964, and completed her education from 1964-1968 with Southaw Girls Secondary School in North London. Shortly thereafter, she started working as an Administrative Professional with the Central Electricity Generating Board which coincidentally, backed up to the garden of the family home!
In the early 1970's she started working for G & S Allgood (an Architectural Ironmongery) as a Secretary, and met her future husband, Terry. They fell in love, and bought what would later become their family home, and settled down together in Mitcham, Surrey. Julie & Terry wed on October 8th, 1981. They welcomed their first daughter, Leander Jane on November 2nd, 1982 the following year. Julie then left her Secretarial position and became a full time homemaker for the next couple of decades, dedicating herself to her family. In the years following, she welcomed daughters Siobhan Ruth on October 4th 1985, and Jodie Emma on March 24th 1988.
On December 8th 1999, Julie and the family emigrated to the United States, settling in Ocoee, Florida.
In the mid-2000's, Julie began working for Toys R Us in Client Services, eventually retiring in 2016. She enjoyed working again, and the babies she'd encounter at the store brought her so much joy.
In her free time, she loved spending time with her family, travelling, having adventurous days at the theme parks with her girls, and the simple comforts of life. She was the life of any social gathering, enjoyed playing spirited card games like Chase the Ace, Jackass, and Bullshit, and could always be found with a "cuppa tea" in hand. She made her family laugh with her silly dance moves and quirky quotes.
On July 18th 2019, she became a proud Nana to her first grandson, Lucas.
She is survived by her husband Terry Primus, sister Gina Hawes (Alan Hawes), half brother Ron Cornwell-Rozee, daughters Leander Primus, Siobhan Primus-Mullins (Gary Mullins), Jodie Primus, grandson Lucas Mullins, and baby girl Mullins (arriving January 2024).
While Julie's battle was short, it was mighty, and we are forever grateful for the time we were able to spend with her in her last weeks. The bravery she displayed was inspiring, and we are incredibly and eternally proud of her. She will be dearly missed, but her love and passion for family will always live on.
We will mourn, but continue to celebrate her life and legacy.
