Judith Diggs Beaver of Clermont, FL, passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2013. Judy was born January 21, 1943 in Charlotte, NC, to Solomon and Pauline Diggs. Raised in Charlotte, she was a 1961 graduate of Garinger High School where she met her future husband, Ron. After graduation, Judy worked as a secretary for Allied Chemical Corp in Charlotte. Later, she worked in Miami as a secretary for McDonalds Corp. and several insurance agencies.
Judy and Ron were married for 51 years and had four sons and seven grandchildren. Judy always said her claim to fame was raising her four boys and that she did well. She knew early on what type of home she wished for her family, and she poured all of herself into her husband and boys. Judy was also a very creative decorator, and had a particular style. She could spend hours in thrift shops and antique stores searching for that special item. She could see treasure in everyday things. Each of her homes showed her love and attention to detail. Her wonderful sense of humor filled the home with laughter and created many inside family jokes.
Judy is survived by her loving husband, Ron, her four sons and their wives: Tim Beaver of Orlando, FL James Andrea Beaver of Greenville, SC, and their children Aaron, Nicholas, and Elise Brad Caryn Beaver of Winter Springs, FL, and their children Alaina, Mallory, Claire, and Avery and Jason Jamie Beaver of Ocoee, FL. Judy is also survived by her brothers and their wives: Joe Judy Diggs, Charlotte, NC Mike Teresa Green, Concord, NC Keith Libby Diggs, Wilmington, NC and Bobby Rhonda Diggs, Wilmington, NC. Also surviving are her sisterinlaw and her husband, Brenda and Dave Watson, Clermont, FL, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and brother Stephen Diggs, Wilmington, NC.
Special thanks for all the love and attention the people at Serenades Memory Care Assisted Living gave to Judy this past year. Also thanks to Vitas Hospice Care for the many hours spent caring for Judy.
After cremation, a private memorial service will be held for the family.
I would like for Judys sons to remember:
That your Mother is always with you.... Shes the whisper
of the leaves as you walk down the street shes the smell of bleach
in your freshly laundered socks shes the cool hand
on your brow when youre not well. Your Mother lives
inside your laughter. And shes crystallized in every teardrop
Shes the place you came from, your first home and
shes the map you follow with every step you take. Shes your first love
and your first heartbreak, and nothing on earth can separate you.
Not time, not space ... not even death
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Judys name to Alzheimers Family Organization, PO Box 1939, New Port Richey, FL 34656.
