Joel Aden Vivian Moon Jr. passed away July 19th in Orlando, FL. Aden, one of the few remaining Florida natives, was born in Miami on June 21, 1933. He and his family moved to the Dunnellon area later in his childhood and he attended school in Gainesville where he met the love of his life, Dorothy. After graduation, he joined the Navy and served in the Korean War. Once leaving the service he and Dot married in Georgia and moved to Orlando to start their careers. Aden managed the local Firestone store on Orange Ave. and eventually went on to be an owner operator with Mercury Motors and Pilot Trucking. They bought their home where they currently reside in 1952 and started their family Cindy, Lori, Michelle, and Joel, all of which currently live in Central Florida. He has also been blessed with seven grandchildren. Aden had true patriotism for his country, a pleasure for hunting, and a passion for his family but above all he had a genuine love for his Savior Jesus Christ. He will be missed terribly by all who had the pleasure to know and love him.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 23 from 6 8 PM at the funeral home. Funeral Service will be 11 AM Wednesday, July 24 in the chapel of Collison Carey Hand Funeral Home, Winter Garden. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Gotha, FL.
