Hema Virmani, born September 22, 1948, passed away after a courageous battle with Non-Hodgkin’s Diffuse B-Cell Lymphoma. She was a devoted wife to Pichuswami Virmani for 55 years, a loving mother to Anita (Jay) Whitehead and Sunita (Karthik) Iyer, and a cherished grandmother to Sara, Leena, and Dev.
Hema had a heart that welcomed everyone. She made people feel at home, always offering kindness, warmth, and a helping hand. She was a beacon of positivity, facing every challenge with strength and enthusiasm. She embraced life fully—whether through travel, her love of bridge, table tennis, and mahjong.. She was fearless, independent, and always looked out for those she loved.
As a mother, she taught her daughters the importance of strength, resilience, and independence. Her wisdom and generosity left a lasting mark, and her spirit will live on in the lives she touched.
Services will be held at Collison Carey Hand Funeral Home on February 10, 2025, at 9 AM with a luncheon to follow. A Celebration of Life will be planned at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hope Community Center in Hema’s memory.
