On Thursday, October 22, 2015, Gladys Eva Gray, departed this life at Dr. Phillips Hospital in Orlando, Florida. She was born September 4, 1926, in New Rochelle, New York, to Frank and Eva B. Ashburn.
Gladys received her education in the New Rochelle public school system. In 1947 she married the late Alonzo Prioleau. To this union, two children were born: daughter, Sheila Ann Prioleau, and son, Alonzo Jay Prioleau. On January 22, 1972, Gladys married Loxley S. Gray, in New Rochelle, NY. Gladys and Loxley moved to Florida in 1988.
During her lifetime Gladys traveled to the many places, including many of Caribbean Islands, U. S. Virgin Islands, Mexico, Germany, Italy, Amsterdam and Africa; as well as many states in the Continental U.S. She and Loxley were avid travelers via land, air and sea.
She leaves to mourn her passing, her beloved husband of 44 years, Loxley S. Gray; her son, Alonzo "Jay" Prioleau, of Mt. Vernon, NY (Linda); two granddaughters, Jamila Prioleau, of Fayetteville, NC, and Natia Darden-Prioleau, of New York City; great grand children, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She is predeceased by daughter Sheila, and step-daughter, Angella Gray.
