Gladys Childs

Gladys Marie Childs, 76, of Orlando, passed away at home peacefully with her loving family by her side on Sunday, March 26, 2017. She was the beloved wife of Thermon Childs, whom she called "Sweetheart."
She was a 1959 graduate of Boone High School.
Gladys loved reading her Bible and volunteering at church. She also loved visiting those in need and helping them by taking them to run their errands or to doctor's appointments.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Donald (Tammy) Childs of Casselberry, Paul Childs of Orlando, Daniel Childs of Tavares, Sherry (James Goodman) Childs of Orlando, Bertie (Bill) Charland of Chuluota, Renee (James) LaPlante of Old Orchard Beach, ME and Thelma Childs of Orlando; her grandchildren, Crystal Penn, Hilliary Piniaz, Matthew Childs, Curtis Childs Jr., Amber Childs- Indrunas, Ashley Forbes, Tabetha Childs, Mary Childs, Hannah Childs, Lukus Moore, Blake Charland, Preston Charland, Meghan LaPlante, Zachary LaPlante, Adriana Sutton; and siblings, Jimmy Wrye, Evelyn Wheatley, and Jerry Campbell
She was predeceased by her son Ronald Childs, and brother, John Fortune.
A visitation and viewing will be held Wednesday, March 29, 2017 from 6- 8pm at Collison Carey Hand Funeral Home, 1148 E. Plant Street, Winter Garden, Florida. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 30, 2017 at 10am at the funeral home. Graveside Services will be private. A Fellowship Reception will be held after the services for all who wish to attend.
