Let Us Pause To Honor the Memory of
Mrs. E. Marie Layton Austin
Mrs. E. Marie Layton Austin, age 96, of Madison, Indiana and Winter Garden, Florida entered this life on May 3, 1920 in Madison, Indiana. She was the loving daughter of the late Charles and Genevieve Hertz Layton. She was raised in Madison and was a 1938 graduate of Madison High School. On November 18, 1949 she was united in marriage to Lloyd H. Austin at the Clifty Inn in Clifty Falls State Park in Madison, Indiana. Marie had been employed at Clifty Inn and as a clerk with Murphy's Five and Dime Store in downtown Madison. She enjoyed bowling for many years, her church family and her flowers and gardening. Marie loved her dog and her bird. She held membership in the Madison Moose Lodge No 765 Auxiliary and the West Madison United Methodist Church. She loved wintering in Winter Garden, Florida and maintained many lasting relationships there. Marie died on Saturday, April 1, 2017, at 4:38 a.m. at the Health Central Hospital in Ocoee, Florida.
A LOVING FAMILY
Marie will be missed by her nephews and care-givers, Robert W. Layton of Cleveland, Ohio, Charles Austin of Indianapolis, Indiana; several other nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Layton died June 9, 1952, her mother, Genevieve Hertz Layton died February 1, 1998, her beloved husband of 49 years, Lloyd H. Austin died February 1, 1998, her sister, Ruth E. Hutson Ehman died May 14, 2010, died March 14, 2010, her brothers, John William Layton died Jan. 16, 2010; Charles Nicholas Layton, Sr. died March 31, 1993 and Howard E. Layton died July 11, 2007.
FUNERAL CEREMONY
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at 1:00 p.m., by Pastor David Leland at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Grandview Memorial Gardens, 9306 North US 421 near Madison, Indiana.
VISITATION
Friends may call from 4-6pm, Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at Collison Carey Hand Funeral Home in Winter Garden, FL. Indiana friends may call Tuesday, April 11, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana.
