Dumitru Plinius Toaxen

Dumitru “Plinius” Toaxen, 91, of Lakewood, Ohio, passed away on Monday, January 6, 2025. He was born in Ciuperceni, Romania to the late Dumitru and Elena Toacsen.

Dumitru studied Engineering at the University of Cluj in Romania. Following graduation he secured a position as Chief Geologist at Consiliu Judetean. Once he arrived in the United States he worked as a Geologist and Chief Lab Director for a leading Contractor serving Department of Transportation Departments in Midwestern States.

Dumitru Toaxen is pre-deceased by his wife Estera and survived by daughters Giannina Toaxen and Cezarina Vintilla and Son-in Law Ray Vintilla. Additionally, he is survived by his niece Diane Flaherty, nephew Dorian Vidu and many other family and friends.

The family would like to thank and express their appreciation to the staff at Palm Gardens in Orlando.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 10, 2025, 12:30 PM at Collison Carey Hand Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Thursday, January 9th 2025 from 6PM to 9PM. at the funeral home.
