Dolores Bacon

Dolores Maxine Bacon, 90, of Apopka, died Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at her home. She was born April 11, 1927 in Hopkinton, Iowa, to the late Lawrence and Opal Fielder. On July 18, 1943, she was united in marriage to Don Samuel Bacon in Hopkinton, Iowa. In June of 1975, they moved to Ocoee, Florida where they lived until he died in 1979. She then lived in Orlando until 2009 when she moved in with her daughter, Marsha, and son-in-law Bob, for her remaining years. Dolores' granddaughter, Tara, took care of her Monday through Friday for 11 years, up until her death.
Dolores loved singing, telling stories, tongue twisters and most of all being with her family, which brought her much joy!
She is survived by three children, Sam Bacon (Rosemary), Steve Bacon (Debbie), and Marsha Roach (Bob); daughter-in-law Linda (wife of Larry); nine grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Larry and five siblings.
