David Tibbetts

David Tibbetts, affectionately known as “Super Dave” to those close to him, passed away on Sunday, June 23rd, 2019. David was born on October 24th, 1969 in Boston, Massachusetts, to parents Ann Marie Callahan and John Willis Tibbetts.

David was known for his incredible work ethic and thirst for knowledge, which led him to a successful career in the high-tech engineering field. An expert in machine programming, David helped develop submarines during his time with Perry, worked on missile projects for Lockheed Martin, and joined SpaceX before his untimely passing. David is one of the few people in the world who could say his work took him from the bottom of the ocean all the way to space.  In addition to his professional accomplishments, David will be remembered for his kind heart, jovial attitude, and his smile, which could light up a room. A fighter until the very end, David will be missed by all of those who knew him.

David is survived by his loving wife, Maritza Tibbets, and his beloved children, Kaitlyn and Justin Tibbetts.

Services will be held on Saturday June 29, 2019 at 11am in the Collison Carey Hand Funeral Home Chapel, 1148 E. Plant Street, Winter Garden, Florida 34787. The family will receive friends and family an hour prior to the service.
