“It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone.
For part of us went with you on the day God called you home.”
Clayton was brought into this world 27 years ago by Joan, his birth mother and on the same day, this gift from God was given to his parents, Ernie and Kathy.
He was our world!
As we’ve learned by the many tributes and memorials, he was a good friend to many.
Clay had a heart of gold-big enough to match his large frame and a smile that would light up any room. He was kind, considerate, responsible, caring and fun.
He was passionate about FSU, The Braves, trucks, fishing, firearms, and marksmanship. He was patriotic, loved music, NASCAR, his dog and mostly his family and friends.
Clay had many nicknames including ironically, Tiny, Claydough, Clayboy, little buddy, Peanut, doodlebug, and JR.
However, you remember him, just remember that he touched each of your lives and each of you touched his.
Clay is survived by Ann Lee (“Grammi”); parents, Ernie and Kathy Royal; birthmother, Joan Jennert; spouse, Kelsey Royal; half-sisters, Valarie Bliss, and Megan Jennert; half-brothers, Donnie Jennert, and Cameron Jennert; uncle, Charles (Patty) Lee; aunts, Tammy Lee Oliver, Becky Chepenik, Joy (Tony) Justice, and Janet (Sam) Hill; and cousins, David Royal, Kristin Tolbert, Courtney (Shawn) Sagraves, Celina Chepenik, Kyle Chepenik, Ben Justice, Matt Justice, Jennifer Reed, PJ Smith, and Luigi Rivera.
