Christine Rushing passed away at home on Friday, November 15, 2024, surrounded by her family. She was proceeded in death by her husband of 53 years, David Rushing. She is survived by her two daughters, Michelle Mikkola of Apopka, and Donna Condry of Winter Garden. Grandsons, Nathan Condry of Chico, Ca, Jacob Condry of Winter Garden, and Sean Condry of Escondido, Ca.
Honorary Adopted daughter, Sherrie Hutson, who was not only like a daughter to Christine, but was there for her in her medical needs. And she was Gma to Emily and Madison Hutson, who picked flowers from Christine’s flower bed, knocked on her door and said hi and presented Christine with her own flowers. 😊
Honorary Adopted daughter Lori Elliot, whom she comforted when her husband was ill and passed away. Lori has been a great neighbor and friend who was there for Christine when her husband was ill and passed away.
Christine grew up on a farm in Lutz, Florida where she learned how to ride horses on her Daddy’s horse, Playboy. He was a gentle giant to a small child who used to wrap her arms and legs with her sister Jewel, around Playboys front legs and he would gently walk with both girls hanging on to his legs.
Later on, when she wasn’t riding, or doing farm chores, she participated in Girl Scouts, where her Mamma was the scout leader.
Christine was working at Honeywell where she reconnected with David, and they started dating. A few years after they were married, they started a family where she became a housewife to not one, but eventually two daughters.
Michelle and Donna kept her busy through the years with Girl Scouts, and band, and band color guard.
After the kids graduated and left the house, Christine and David eventually moved to Orlando, where they both worked for Disney. Christine was there for 10 years before she retired.
After her retirement, she was the housewife again, and taking care of the house, garden and her mother when she was ill and passed away.
Unfortunately, as the years went on, Christine’s health declined.
She will be missed greatly. She was a strong, independent but shy person with a silent sense of humor that she only showed to her friends.
She was blunt, forward, and didn’t mince words when she told you how she felt about something, whether it was about food she didn’t like or the clothes that you (mostly her daughters) were wearing.
She was a loving mother, grandmother and a true person to her friends.
