Charles Douglas “Charlie” Keoppen, of Winter Garden, Florida passed away on Wednesday, May 19, 2021, his 84th birthday. He was born May 19, 1937 in Detroit< MI to the late Albert and Albertine Keoppen. Charlie lived in Michigan for 32 years before moving to Florida in 1969. He lived mainly in Ocoee but later moved to Winter Garden.
Charlie worked as a Fireman and in construction on a pipeline after proudly serving his country as a member of the US Navy.
He was a member of Glad Tidings Church and enjoyed going on mission trips and listening to the Bible. In his spare time, Charlie could be found gardening, building just about anything and being with his family.
He is survived by his loving spouse Glenda; children, Jimmy Butler (Pam), Tanya Belasky (Lee), Charles “Doc” Keoppen, Jr., Thomas “Andy” Butler (Shannon), Becky Bashioun (Geof) and Neil Keoppen (Kelley); grandchildren, Josh, Dusty, Jennifer, Myles, Jeremy, Kyle, Geordan, Caleb, Brianne, and Emily; and 18 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 23, 2021, 5pm at Glad Tidings Church-Central Campus, 2009 E. Fullers Cross Road, Ocoee, FL 34761. The family will receive friends starting at 4:30. Interment will follow Monday, May 24, 2021, 10am at Winter Garden Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to City of Refuge Fund at Glad Tidings Church .
