Carol J. Fullerton

November 26, 1925 — September 4, 2024

Carol Josephine (Keeney) Fullerton, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, went home to be with the Lord on September 4, 2024. Carol was born in Lucas County, Iowa, on November 26, 1925, to Harley V. Keeney and Anna V. (Woods) Keeney, and was raised in Chariton, Iowa. She graduated Charitan High School in 1945, then continued her education at Olivet Nazarene College in Bourbonnais, Illinois. After one year of college she met and married her husband, Richard L. Fullerton, on August 1, 1946, and the two moved to Kansas City, Missouri, where Mr. Fullerton attended the Nazarene Theological Seminary.

During seminary in 1948 the two began several missionary churches in the Kansas City area and had their first daughter, Judy, in Kankakee, Illinois, and soon after came daughters Jeannette and Joyce. The family moved to Orlando, Florida in 1953 where they had daughters Jane and Jill, and continued planting and building churches in Orlando, Winter Haven, West Palm Beach, and Kissimmee.

In addition to being a pastor’s wife, Carol was a seamstress and frequently made clothing for her family. She loved her family passionately and was always involved in her kids’ activities - whether it was choir practice, piano lessons, school programs, or countless hours at her kids’ games and practices.

Having been raised on a farm, Carol was most proud of her garden and you could find her almost every day in the kitchen preparing fresh vegetables to go with full delicious meals to feed anyone who might be visiting their home anywhere near a mealtime. Everyone loved her cooking!

Carol is survived by daughters Judith Kay Miller, Joyce Ann Hart (John), Jane Carol Bright, Jill Colleen Hood (Graham), Jack Lee Fullerton, Jacob Charles Fullerton, Sean Lane Fullerton (Allison), and Seth Lee Fullerton (Joy). She is survived by eight grandchildren, Michael Miller, Anna Hart, Nathanael Hart, Deborah Hart, Noah Hart, Taylor Hood, Garrett Fullerton, and Ryan Fullerton, and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Richard Lee Fullerton, daughter, Jeannette Dawn Sacklyn, granddaughter, Amanda Dawn Miller, and siblings, Rev. Harold Keeney, Colene Borger, Glenn Keeney, Louise Turner, Harley Keeney, Jr., Frances Schneider, and Francene Irving.

A private graveside service for Carol will be held Thursday, September 12, 2024, at the Winter Garden Cemetery in Winter Garden, Florida.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Orlando Union Rescue Mission. www.ourm.org
