Calvin Bailey

Calvin Junior Bailey, 84, went to be with the Lord on September 8, 2013. Calvin was born in Irondale, Alabama on May 30, 1929. His father Ralph and mother Ida Mae moved the family to Florida not long after Calvin was born.
At a young age, Calvin was up early tending goats and doing chores before making his long walk to school. Later, when Calvin was in his teens, he and his mother went to live with his brother. Calvins brother Fred and his wife Libby lived on a farm with their five daughters in Branford, Florida, just off the Suwannee River. Calvin revered his brother and referred to Libby as his second mother.
When Calvin was 15, he decided to join the military. Soon thereafter, when his age was discovered, they sent him back home. When he did become of age, he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he earned his way to being Master Sergeant Bailey. After retiring from the Air Force, Calvin redirected his talents to become a homeservice repairman at Sears in Orlando. Next, he formed his own company where he fixed air conditioners and made many other home repairs. He was always fair and willing to help someone in need. In the later years of Calvins business, he taught his youngest son Paul how to properly serve his customers.
Calvin remarried after retiring from the Air Force and, up until recently, had been able to enjoy life at home in Orlando with his wife Doris. Until the last words he could speak, he called her Lovee and referred to her as my bride.
Calvin is survived by Doris and her children Joseph, Gloria and Teresa and his three sons Paul, Robert and Michael, his grandchildren Diana, Jennifer,Benjamin, Amy, Kristi, Sonya, Derek, Jade, Wyatt, Nicky, and Joshua, and his greatgrandchildren Austin, Antonio, Diego, Dylan and Natalie. He was with his three best buddies Greg, Raub and Bill until the very last moment of his stay here on earth.
Calvin knew where he was going and we know where he is now. He enjoyed attending the Azalea Park Church of Christ. Mr. James Needham, the evangelist there, will speak at his memorial service. Calvin was a follower of Christ, patriotic, optimistic, caring, loving, astute, funny and wise. He greatly and positively impacted all with whom he had contact those who he had known for their lifetime and even those who helped care for him in his final hours. He will be greatly missed and memories of him will be forever cherished.
