Alwyn Allen

Alwyn C. Allen, 80, also fondly known as A.C. or Allie, passed away on, Wednesday, February 26th 2014 at Orlando Health Central Hospital. Born in Christiana, Jamaica, he was the fourth child of ten for the late Richard Samuel and Maude Iris Allen. Alwyn married the love of his life Pauline P and they spent 54 loving years together raising three daughters, two sons, four granddaughters, four grandsons and a great granddaughter. He relished in the areas of horticulture, zoology and livestock as evidenced through his initiative to establish Jamaicas first and major Hope Zoo as curator along with his further roles of Superintendent of Public Gardens and Project Manager of Bodles, Jamaica and at USAID. Alwyn enjoyed reading, singing hymnssongs and quoting Bible verses to parallel with lifes principles and for the betterment of lives. He served as Chairman of the Trinity Moravian Church Skills Development Center as he believed everyone should have an opportunity to learn a life skill.

Alwyn is survived by his wife Pauline his daughters Amry, LisaGaye and Camille his sons Nigel and Paul his granddaughters Alicia, Danielle, Kylie and ChristiAnne, his grandsons Simon, Marc, Cary and Kyle his great granddaughter Brooke his brothers Astley and Winston Pie his sisters Norma, Lyn and Greta and a host of Nieces and Nephews, Family and Friends.

The family will receive friends on Friday, March 7 from 6:00 8:00 PM at Collison Carey Hand Funeral Home, Winter Garden. Funeral Service will be 11 AM Saturday, March 8 at 11:00 AM at the Silver Star Christian Church, Orlando, FL. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Gotha, FL.
